So Saturday afternoon we had a PBS session for the Independent Lens documentary series, and one of the panels was about “Chicago 10,” a new film about what eventually became the Chicago Seven trial, back in 1968. Radical journalist Paul Krassner was there with director Brett Morgen. And so was Black Panthers co-founder Bobby Seale. It was originally the Chicago Eight until Seale’s trial got severed from the others because of all his outbursts in court. Judging by the reader response, we should have written about how it’s nearly impossible to get cellphone reception in some heavily populated regions of Los Angeles.
